On January 3, 2019, the Senior Men played the "12 foot" special event curling game where the button is replaced by the 12 foot diameter circle.

The first place team was:  Peter Fletcher, Glenn Hill, Dave Cabel & Clare Kidd.

The second place team was:  Gary Yates, Tom Doyle, George Bilodeau & Steve Rousell.

The third place teasm was:  John Found, Roland Mackay, Bill Moore & Bert Goodfellow.

Congratulations to all and everyone enjoyed pizza in the lounge afterwards.

2019 12foot winners


On December 6, 2018, the Whitby Senior Men donated $7,200 to the Whitby Salvation Army Christmas Hamper program to assist families in need at this time of year.

On December 6, 2018, the Senior Men participated in "The Bump" special event where all delivered rocks must bump another to remain in play. 

The 1st place winners were:  Bruce Pizzolato, Richard Van Dusen, Steve Booth and Steve Rousell.

There were two teams tied for second place and they were:  Dave Taylor, Dave Werry, Don Cranston and Gary Bennett as well as Rob Woods, Doug Sauer, Bert Goodfellow and Julius Zilinski.

On November 1, 2018, the Senior Men enjoyed the "Fill the House" game, received some prizes and had a great hot lunch in the dining room.

The 1st place team was:  Peter Fletcher, Chuck Trotter, Bob Weckman and Julius Zilinski.  They scored 223 points and their photo is shown below.

The 2nd place team was:  Walter Mueller, Bruce Pizzolato, John Peacock and Brian Gower.

The 3rd place team was:  Doug Pascoe, Eric Jones, Rick Winkley and Randy Boudreau.

In April 2018, the Senior Men held their annual Closing Bonspiel and 72 curlers participated over the four day event.

The first place team was: Paul Morgan / George Lavigne, Steve Crabbe, Peter Watson and Paul McShane with 53.25 points.

The second place team was: Gary Yates, Eric Jones, Sandy Carroll and Rick Winkley with 50.25 points

The third place teams was Murray Nicholson, Peter Fletcher, Dave Trimble and Bob Leczel with 48.75 points.

In April 2018, the Senior Men enjoyed the "Ice Bowling" Special Event.  The first place team was: Gary Yates, Tom Kearns and Doug McNab.  The second place team was: Walter Mueller, Dave Jack, Trevor Wilson and Dave Slack with the third place team being: Ted Stillar, Bob Ellis, Peter Conrad and Geo Bilodeau.  Congratulations to all the winners.  In the photo below are Tom Kearns, Gary Yates and Doug McNabb.

The Whitby Curling Club is located in Whitby, Ontario. It is a Not-For-Profit organization that was founded in 1958. It has 6 sheets of ice, lounge, and dinning hall. It has recreational curling leagues for anyone 8 years old or older. It offers a great facility for team building execises and meeting space.
